Halfway Through

Today I begin my ninth week on Noom. It’s the halfway point as Noom is a sixteen week program. I’ve lost fifteen pounds in eight weeks, I am very happy with that result. My metabolism has finally kicked in so I am not gaining weight every other day like I was when I started. It’s a very livable program. The psyche tricks are good. The support is great. And it is exposing me to new ways of thinking about food and movement.

I’ve been having fun listening to some new music when I take my walks. Taylor Swift‘s new album, Love, has a couple of tracks that I’ve fallen for: ME! and You Need to Calm Down are very fun and poppy. The Jonas BrothersHappiness Begins album is fantastic. I especially like Sucker, Cool, Happy When I’m Sad and Rollercoaster. The songs are great, and they are a good pace for my walk. And I’m enjoying the soundtrack to the movie Ugly Dolls. I mean, Kelly Clarkson, Janelle Monae, Bebe Rexha and Pentatonix all on one album? Yes, please!

So as I keep eating better and moving more, I am encouraged by my energy level and the feeling of well being that I have. This journey is really tough. Some days I drag myself out the door for a walk. Some days I fly out the door. Some days I wake up feeling strong and empowered. Some days I drag myself out of bed and struggle to put one foot in front of the other. But my resolve to stay the course is strong.

Thanks for hanging in there with me, Dear Readers. I truly appreciate your support and encouragement.

Meet me at the Kingdom.

Walking, Eating and Living Life to the Fullest

Day 412 in celebrating on my way to see Mickey (18 days to go)

This morning’s jams as I took my early walk were: Kiss Me by Six Pence None the Richer and Shake It Off by Taylor Swift.  I made it a little farther than yesterday, but I am really feeling it now.  My legs are like, “What are you thinking?!?”  But it’s a good sore, a progress-being-made kind of sore.

Tonight I attend the Women of Faith Conference (named Loved) in Hoffman Estates, Illinois with my bestie from Michigan and my bestie from Illinois.  Yay!  Jean and Joan in the same room praising the Lord with me; it doesn’t get any better that that!  We will hear Sandy Patty, Sheila Walsh and Sarah Jakes Roberts tonight and many more tomorrow.  Man, oh, man, I am juiced up…with excitement (and a little bit of caffeine).  🙂

We three girls are having a pajama party at the Hampton Inn tonight.  That way we save about two hours of driving.  We’ll go down early, check in to our room, grab some dinner (I hope to find a dinner salad) and head to Sears Centre for renewal and uplifting praise!  Woo hoo!

Meet you at the Kingdom!

My Jam for the Journey

Day 98 in my musical march to Mickey

My plan for today was to get my i-pod shuffle re-synced and ready to use at the Health and Fitness club.  I chose the pop-iest of pop songs with a good dose of Christmas music for good measure.

  • Shake It Off by Taylor Swift
  • What a Glorious Night by Sidewalk Prophets (love, love, love this song)
  • Baby by Justin Bieber
  • The Bell That Wouldn’t Jingle by Tijuana Brass
  • Kiss Me by Sixpence None the Richer
  • Let It Snow by Gloria Estefan
  • American Dream by Rhythm and the Doghouse
  • Baby Face by Rhythm and the Doghouse
  • Baton Rouge by  Rhythm and the Doghouse

And more.  It was a fun task picking out light songs that make me want to move.   I boogied my way through the music, and I am now anticipating my first trip to the track.

Meet you at the Kingdom!

BTW: Happy birthday, dear Julie, happy birthday to you!!
