Magical Halloween Fun

What an incredible evening we had at Magic Kingdom last night! Mike, James, Ida and I had dinner at Be Our Guest. It was so delicious! I highly recommend the filet mignon for a main course which comes with mashed potatoes and al dente green beans. My starter of cheese and fruit was perfect for the meal that followed. And the dessert was just plain fun! A mini white chocolate “Chip” cup filled with “the gray stuff”, a raspberry macaroon with raspberry jam and fresh raspberries, and a chocolate truffle. So cute and so sweet and so delicious!

And that castle! Just Holy Wah! It is truly an enchanting place to dine. Ida was nervous about Beast, so she was happy to only see him from across the room. She liked the big music box with Belle and Beast dancing. And she thought the rose was very pretty.

Then James and Ida legged it for the bus back to Old Key West Resort. Ida has a cold and was tired and a bit cross. But in her defense she has a nasty cold that she has been fighting all week. Bless her little heart!

Jake, Eliza, and Linnie spent the evening at the resort as Linnie has her first case of the flu. They took her to Urgent Care earlier in the day (a four hour ordeal) and got her a prescription and some pain meds. She seems quite a bit more herself this morning, but will have a quiet day today.

Our evening continued with rides: Mad Tea Party, Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. We did quite a bit of Trick or Treating, and received a mountain of candy. We caught the end of the Hocus Pocus Spelltacular, just in time for “I Put a Spell on You.”

We ended our evening by finding a spot on the bridge between Tomorrow Land and the central hub. Emi went to Plaza Ice Cream and picked up some treats for us to enjoy as we sat and passed the time. We watched Boo to You Halloween Parade. And finished off the evening with HalloWishes fireworks. We had a great time just being together in such a beautiful place.

Feeling very blessed this morning! Meet me at the Kingdom.

Work and Play

Day 360 in working toward a healthier me to meet Mickey

  1. Today’s plan was to up the physical activity factor at work today.  New carpet is being put in my office on Monday.  Mike and I are leaving town tomorrow evening (Thursday) for a family reunion in Michigan.  So I have been purging and moving things out of the office most of today.  My neck is sore, my back is bit achy, even my wrists and ankles are complaining.  🙂  But I have been VERY physically active today.  And, thanks to my rescue inhaler, I haven’t gotten out of breath and wheezy.  Yay!  I’m liking this new me, and I’ll like it even better when I am moving around more.
  2. On a side note: Be Our Guest, a restaurant at Magic Kingdom, opened reservations today for breakfast.  They used to only serve lunch and dinner.  I thought, “Great!  We can change our reservation for there rather than Crystal Palace, since we’ve already eaten breakfast at Crystal Palace.  We’ll try something new.”  Well, I should have been online at 6:00 am, but I didn’t remember until 9:00 am, so guess what…no reservations available.  Figures.  It’s a good things we like Crystal Palace.

Dining at Disney World in October

Day 250 in my anticipation of all things Disney and my friend Mickey

Today’s plan was to lock down our choices for dining reservations in October.  TOMORROW WE ARE 180 DAYS OUT!!  Now any Disneyphile knows that at if you’re staying on Walt Disney World property, you can make your dining reservations 180 days out.  So after work today I quarantined myself at the computer, did some last minute research and put things in place.  Here is the plan:

Day 1 Dinner at Olivia’s Cafe at Old Key West Resort (Travel day)

Day 2 Breakfast at Cinderella’s Royal Table at the Magic Kingdom (And I want to meet up with Mickey for  photo later in the day!)

Day 3 Dinner at Be Our Guest at the Magic Kingdom

Day 4 Breakfast at Olivia’s Cafe at Old Key West Resort and   Dinner at Artist Point at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Day 5 Lunch at San Angel Inn at EPCOT and Dinner at 50’s Prime Time Cafe at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Day 6 Lunch at Yak and Yeti Restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Day 7 Breakfast at Olivia’s Cafe at Old Key West Resort and Dinner at Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant at Downtown Disney

Day 8 Lunch at Tusker House at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Dinner at Tony’s Town Square at the Magic Kingdom

Day 9 Breakfast at Olivia’s Cafe at Old Key West Resort (Travel day)

And, as if that’s not enough the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival is happening while we’re there.  I hope to spend one morning and one afternoon there to check it out.  So excited now!
