Day 141 in traveling to meet Mickey
Today we travel back to Illinois. These days in wintry Upper Michingan have passed all together too quickly again. Mike caught a nasty cold, and the elements fought us yesterday, so in some ways it has been a bit disappointing. But the visiting has been so great! Friends and family all around is always a blessing. Some of us may be oddballs, but we’re OUR oddballs. 😘.
Today’s plan is to really try to remain sugar-free. I haven’t managed it yet, but today is looking good.
Meet you at the Kingdom!
BTW: I found out I can blog on my iPhone. Very handy.
Day 140 in my dance toward Mickey
Today my plan is to stay sugar free and to enjoy all the face time with family and friends.
Mike came down with a nasty cold, so we didn’t even leave his mom’s house yesterday. We leave for home tomorrow. So today it’s visit with our besties, lunch with one of my brothers, visit another brother in the hospital (Mike won’t come up to spread his germs), coffee with a third brother, then head back to Humboldt.
It’s been another whirlwind of a trip and a very Merry Christmas. Meet you at the Kingdom!
Day 139 in my journey to Walt Disney World
I had a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Now it’s time to get back on track. So my plan for today is to go cold turkey off of sugar again. I must admit, the sugary things I ate the last two days were amazingly sweet. I hadn’t had sugar since Thanksgiving Day, so, holy wah, it tasted really sweet. 😜. I am actually looking forward to getting back to more veggies and lean protein.
So Happy Boxing Day, Dear Readers. Meet you at the Kingdom!
Day 138 in making merry toward meeting Mickey
Merry Christmas! Today’s plan is to visit as much as possible and to not go absolutely crazy with food. Two visits down and just had a lovely dinner at my niece Carrie’s house. Lean pork and a lot of vegetables. Fantastic! There is a piece of cheesecake calling my name now though.
Make merry, dear readrers. Meet you at the Kingdom!
Day 137 as I stay merry on my way to Mickey
Merry Christmas Eve! My plan for today is to live in the moment. I will appreciate the people and conversation around me. I will eat healthily with a few Christmas indulgences. I will walk around more, rather than sitting through the entire day. I will make merry.
Now I am off to my complimentary Hampton Inn breakfast, so we can continue winging our way north to beloved family and friends.
May you have a very Merry Christmas Eve. Meet you at the Kingdom!
Day 136 in my quest to be at my best when I meet up with Mickey
I’ve been at work for just over three hours, and the printer has been humming the whole time, except for a small break when I ran the church’s January newsletter to the post office. Christmas Eve…printed and in place. Christmas Day…printed and ready to go. Sunday, December 28…printing now and I will stuff it and have in ready within the hour. Praise God!!
Lord willing and the creek don’t rise, we are headed out of town on five days of vacation after work today. My plan for today is to swim tonight at the Hampton Inn (or my version of swimming which is to walk around in the pool for half an hour) and to order a salad when we dine out at our favorite Green Bay eatery, Grazies Italian Grill. I will skip the amazing pasta this time. After all, it’s Christmas Eve eve, so I want to be as good as possible. Seriously, folks, all bets are off for the next two days. I won’t go crazy, but I will indulge in some holiday favorites.
I will meet you at the Kingdom!
Day 135 in my rush to meet Mickey
OK. I know I have been too busy now. I almost forgot to blog today. Yikes!
Work today and tomorrow was/is just grab-on-with-both hands and hang-on-with-all-I’ve-got. My work day was very productive, and I have tomorrow all planned out so I can hit the ground running.
Then when I came home I put dinner in the oven for Mike and I. And after dinner the packing began. Then about 15 minutes ago it dawned on me…I forgot to blog!!
So, my plan for today was to keep my head down, nose to the grindstone and push through. And I did it. Whew! It is so good to have more energy this year to complete all that I must. It feels good, and makes me even more determined to see this through to the end.
Now, dear readers, it’s off to bed, so I can read and try to relax my mind and body enough to sleep. Meet you at the Kingdom!
Day 134 in my journey to see Mickey
This morning was a huge Lessons and Carols service at church. We got to hear the story of Christ foretold and Christ arrived in Word and song. It was a joyous, festive morning. I am filled up with the grace of God and his miraculous gift to us. Out of his birth and death and resurrection, we are gifted life. Praise the name of the Lord!
My stomach is still dodgy, so my plan for today was to go to church and give this morning over to God, so that is what I did. He never fails to be present, and I especially love meeting him in communion. Blessed be the name of the Lord!
With the help of God, I made it through the service, and I was indeed blessed by it all.
Meet you at the Kingdom!
BTW: We are traveling to the U.P. for Christmas this year. I will have limited access to the internet. I will do my best to post every day, but if I miss a day, then you will know why. Cant’ wait to see our family and friends!!
Day 133 in my trek toward Mickey
I do not feel well today. A very upset stomach has me laying low today. So my plan for today is to rest up and take care of myself, and I hope I feel better tomorrow.
Have a great weekend. Meet you at the Kingdom!
