Today’s plan surgery. Talk to you on the other side. 🙂

Day 261 in my travels to meet up with Mickey
Today is all about getting ready for tomorrow. No solid foods after 10:00 am. Drink 5 ounces of Magnesium Citrate at 3:00 pm and again at 6:00 pm. Take a sauna so I am cleaned up without having to shower in the morning. Turn in early so I can wake up at 5:30, so we can head to the hospital at 6:00 am.
Having the cancer surgically removed is my next step in becoming a healthier me for our trip to Florida in October.
Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers, dear readers.

Day 260 in my pilgrimage to the land of Mickey.
Todays’ plan was to attend Cafe Chocolat and keep all the plates spinning. It was a wonderful day of laughter, tears, faith, fun, deeper friendships and the Word of God. I came away renewed and forgiven. Oh yeah, and exhausted. I am sitting with my feet up with my newest furry friend. (Kitty…so soft!)
I am so grateful to God. He is so faithful. He showed up in a big way and blessed our time together. And there was a miracle. I LOVE chocolate. It is my personal crack. It is an addiction that runs deep and is well-embedded. And by the end of the retreat, I couldn’t even look at a piece of chocolate. The smell made me feel sick to my stomach. I would have never believed it was possible for me to reach a saturation point with chocolate; God gave me that gift today. (I know it’s a very tongue-in-cheek miracle, however, for me it was a miracle none the less.)
Thank you dear friends and readers for all the support and especially the prayers. I feel them deep inside me. And thank you, Holy Spirit for the strength to see it through.
Meet you at the Kingdom!
“…to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.” Ephesians 1:6 New International Version (NIV) Such EXTRAVAGANT GRACE!
Day 259 in my meandering toward Mickey
So today’s plan was to finish setting up for our Cafe Chocolat Retreat tomorrow. I had to prepare 30 small cups of chocolate syrup, set put the coffee condiments, set up the snacks, set up the sounds system, get the cd players ready and practice my session dialogue. All done. All ready for the day.
Today I am emotionally and physically exhausted, so the rest of my day I plan to sit and nap off and on until bedtime. 🙂 Sounds like heaven.

Day 257 in muscling my way to meeting up with my pal Mickey at the Magic Kingdom
Today’s plan was to set up the room for the Cafe Chocolat retreat this Saturday. I set up six tables (4 round and 2 long), 5 chairs at each table. Then I covered them with tablecloths.
Thank you, Lord, for Pat who is making the coffee and hot water for cocoa and tea, putting out water pitchers for the ladies, and making the centerpieces for the tables. I seriously had a couple of nightmares about making these centerpieces. Pat is a lifesaver! Major mischief managed!
I was sweaty and wiped-out after setting up the room, but at the same time I felt a wonderful sense of accomplishment. It always feels good to get active and bull some stuff around. 🙂
That’s it for today, Dear Readers. Meet you at the Kingdom!
BTW: Thank you to my sweet Emi for sending me Method Mickey Mouse Foaming Wash! What a treat to come home yesterday and find 2 bottles there waiting for me. Love you to the moon and back Emi-Bean! And of course James, too! You made my day!
Day 256 In my muddling my way to meet up with Mickey
Today’s plan is to stay sugar-free, to cook a healthy dinner for Mike and me this evening with plenty of fresh veggies, and to get as much done at work today to get as ready as possible to be out of the office for 2 to 3 weeks.
We are too busy. Seriously, we are too busy. We are too busy to read simple instructions, or to process them if we do read them. I had done some preparation for the next few weeks at work. Things were labelled by date and lined up in order. Then this weekend someone took the wrong weeks instructions, used them and completely messed up the works. Argh!
I know I just have to let it go. I am not responsible for other people’s mistakes. If we’re too busy to make sense of things, then that is not my fault either. I can only be responsible for my actions, my mistakes. And I am. It’s what sends me to church every Sunday, the need to give it all to Jesus, and walk away clean. Hallelujah!
Meet you at the Kingdom!
Day 255 in my working to meet up with Mickey
My plan for today was to get as much done at work as I possibly could to get ready to be away for two to three weeks. My doctor told me that I would be at about 80% at the end of two weeks after my surgery. But she stressed that I should not promise to be back at work in two weeks. I’m confused about it all now, but I imagine once I’ve had the surgery it will all become imminently clear. When I am actually in recovery, with all that that means, I’ll know more. I know healing slows down as you age, so I’ll just have to see how it goes.
So anyway I kept my nose to the grindstone at work today, and got a ton accomplished. PTL!

Day 254 in my living my life to get ready to meet up with Mickey (5 months and 24 days to go)
Today’s plan was to go to worship-check. Go to brunch with Mike at IHOP for our 35th wedding anniversary-check. Shop for food, litter and litter bags for Mary Ann at Pet Smart–check. Shop for groceries for our planned meals for this week-check. And go to dinner tonight with Jake and Eliza at Savannah House in Wadsworth for some really great burgers–not check yet.
Mike and I dated for five years before we married, so we’ve been together for 40 years now. Holy wah! Who’d-a-thunk! I truly do love him more everyday. He is my soulmate, my best friend, my lover and my partner in crime.
Meet you at the Kingdom!
Day 253 in calming down to enjoy the view on my way to Mickey
This is my only unscheduled-to-death day until my surgery a week from this Monday. So my plan is to do as little as possible. I’m gonna get dressed, go to breakfast, watch a movie or two, and generally veg out!
The only thing I want to accomplish today is a store list for tomorrow after church. That is it! I will enjoy every minute of this freebee day.
